Code Alpaca 代码指令数据集微调:Sequence Length 设为 2048 的依据与实践(附实验代码)

在微调大语言模型(尤其是代码生成任务)时,序列长度(Sequence Length)是一个关键的超参数。它直接影响显存占用、训练速度和模型对长文本的处理能力。
对于Code Alpaca_20K这个常用的代码指令微调数据集,我们通过实验证实:将序列长度设为 2048 是性价比最优的选择,能够覆盖 99% 以上的样本。本文分享了完整的实验代码和统计结果,供读者参考。
二、数据集简介
Code Alpaca_20K是Stanford Alpaca项目的代码生成扩展版,由Self-Instruct技术生成,包含 20,000 条(instruction, input, output)三元组,覆盖多种编程语言。

三、为什么 Sequence Length 可以设为 2048?
3.1 理论依据:数据集的长度分布
我们使用LLaMA 分词器(huggyllama/llama-7b)统计了整个数据集的 Token 长度分布,结果如下:

3.2 业界实践验证
多个开源项目在微调 Code Alpaca 数据集时,均选择了max_seq_length = 2048:
- Gemma-3-1B-Code-Alpaca-FT模型微调时明确将
max_seq_length设为 2048。 - GPT-J-6B-Alpaca同样使用了 2048 的序列长度。
